Abstract
Tokenization has moved from technical experimentation toward financial-market implementation. Yet the ability to tokenize an asset does not by itself create a functioning digital capital market.
This paper argues that the next phase should focus less on what can be tokenized and more on the infrastructure required for tokenized assets to become trusted, liquid and institutionally usable. It introduces a seven-layer Digital Capital Market Infrastructure Framework designed as an operational diagnostic for assessing institutional readiness.
The paper also distinguishes on-chain visibility from institutional market transparency, treats market intelligence and observability as infrastructure in their own right, and examines how increasingly global technological networks coexist with jurisdictionally governed financial markets.
The framework
Seven functional layers for assessing digital capital-market readiness.
Core propositions
Tokenization digitizes assets. Digital capital markets digitize financial ecosystems.
On-chain transparency is not equivalent to institutional market transparency.
Technological networks can become global while financial products remain substantially jurisdictional.
